X-RTS Software Products is pleased to announce its business relationship with WorkSTEPS, Inc., Austin, Texas. WorkSTEPS providers, now numbering more than 600 and found in all 50 states, do more post-offer tests than any other network in the country. The found of WorkSTEPS, Larry Feeler, is not only an innovator and entrepreneuer---he is also a talented therapist and a personal friend. Due to his vision and energy, WorkSTEPS has developed the state of the art post-offer testing program, one that is not only safe and practical, but also cost-effective. A recent analysis by the Missouri Department of Transportation estimates their WorkSTEPS testing protocol saved the tax payers of Missouri $12,000,000 in its first year of implementation. WorkSTEPS and X-RTS are now involved in a joint venture agreement which has already conducted research we believe will be of tremendous value to the field. Seven articles are now being prepared for submission for publication. At a later time, we will have more to reveal regarding our findings on a number of areas of interest. To give you a preview: 1. Does isometric testing really predict dynamic lifting capacity? 2. Is isometric testing useful for assessing sincerity of effort during two NIOSH lifts? 3. Are the standard BTE Work Simulator protocols for the shoulder, elbow and forearm accurate for assessing sincerity of effort and if not, is there a better way? 4. What are the clinical and FCE correlates to the results of X-RTS Hand Strength Assessment in a large population of patients? In addition to the studies we have already completed with WorkSTEPS, our joint venture is now beginning a large clinical study that will determine if motion sensor technology is useful in quantifying the movement characteristics of various parts of the body.
